An in-line fuel catalyst for marine and stationary engines.
Green Fuel Catalyst is based on the patent-protected Fitch® technology and manufactured in the USA. The catalyst consists of a heterogeneous metallic alloy composition (HMAC).
According to the supplier, it reformulates the molecular composition of hydrocarbon fuel at ambient temperature and pressure, promoting more complete combustion. The catalyst is not consumed, uses no additives, and has no moving parts or electrical hook-ups.
On a vessel, the catalyst is placed in the booster system after the mixing and heating units, on the way to the main or auxiliary engine. A multi-pass arrangement ensures recirculated fuel passes through the catalyst again.
For gas applications in power generation or heating, it is installed with a bypass according to local requirements.
Green Fuel Catalyst reports that the vessel Golden Alaska installed a fuel catalyst in 2014 and saved 300 gallons of fuel per day. This is the supplier's reported figure.
